According to Allan Asherman in Amazing World of DC Comics #2, this story is based on the script for the unsold pilot film for "Adventures of Superboy", "Rajah's Ransom" by Vernon Clark and Whitney Ellsworth. "One Man Team" in this issue was adapted from an unfilmed script as well.
