Talented pianist Mona Knox admires famous concert pianist David Tiffin and gets to audition for him. He begins to mentor her. But while she falls in love, he only cares about the music. After her successful debut she kisses him, but he leaves immediately to tour internationally. When they finally meet again, Mona's hand is accidentally crushed. David again coaches her to a successful comeback, focused only on her music. After the concert, David kisses Mona to her surprise. He admits that his teacher's career had been destroyed by marriage and he had foolishly tried to keep women out of his life.
