Abstract
A detailed analysis of the differences between the original Animal Comics characters from the 1940s Dell publications are compared to the Pogo newspaper strip that started in the 1950s. Particular attention is given to Albert the Alligator who had a propensity for eating other anthropomorphic characters in the comic.
