As punishment for disobedience to his wishes, Timebroker transports the Exiles, sans Beak, to the world of Age of Apocalypse and introduces them to their new teammate, Holocaust. Holocaust snubs his new comrades and flies off to find Sinister but stumbles across the remains of the M'Kraan crystal. He returns to the Exiles with a plan to use the crystal to track down the Timebroker and end his hold over the time-displaced team once and for all.
