Synopsis
Jimmy has a good friends and a loving, supportive family, but he's increasingly frustrated by small-town life in Girardville, Pennsylvania, and worried about his transition into high school. He makes a comic book, but his friend Tony says that it isn't very good, and suggests that Jimmy write about their own lives -- the dumbest idea ever, but the community loves the new book. In high school Jimmy wins and loses a girl friend, and is increasingly dissatisfied with his own work. He recognizes the value of his small town, but begins to work on the artistic development that will take him away.
