- Synopsis
- Sonny is unwilling to leave childhood behind but becomes obsessed with a selkie. Since unbeknownst to him Charlotte has packed the selkie's pelt into Sonny's bag, the selkie is now confined to land. A confused old woman mistakes the selkie for her now-grown daughter. Now called Ellen, the selkie haphazardly starts to learn the ways of modern life.

- Synopsis
- Ellen enrolls at school, where she and Sonny become attached to each other. She's illiterate and totally lost at life on land, so the kids try to teach her even while they cover for her. Since she's expert at swimming, they get her onto the swim team. Mildred and Lee are attracted to each other, enraging Lee's girl friend Sasha, who is also on the swim team. The selkie father prowls the town, looking for his daughter.

- Synopsis
- A flashback shows that Sasha too is a selkie, bound to Lee because he picked up her pelt in childhood. She has even murdered his childhood sweethearts, and now she tries to kill Mildred, but the selkie father intervenes. The kids stage an opportunity for Sasha to attack in front of witnesses, leading to her arrest. Sonny returns Ellen's pelt, after which she is reunited with her father and returns to the sea.
