There Beany and Cecil meet Captain Kidder, who trades a Miner Bird (who can spot gold mines) for Beany's calendar watch. Cecil pulls the Lena into a whirlpool that sends them back into the present. They continue on the way to Pogo Pogo, where Dishonest John steals the miner bird. Wong's seaweed soup gets the bird back and it leads them to Capt. Kidder's treasure chest.
