Indexer Notes

In the letters page of issue G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #230 Hama notes that while making this issue he realized all of the major players were women; he then decided to rewrite his script so that the entire cast was female as a change of pace.
Shooter's service with G.I. Joe and death appeared in G.I. Joe Declassified (Devil's Due Publishing, 2006 series) #1-3 by Larry Hama. Although IDW has not considered Devil's Due to be in-continuity with their stories (calling them "disavowed") Hama has repeatedly referenced his own Devil's Due stories in this series.
