Cerebro becomes Charles Xavier after his death and reconstructs the X-Men, only to find only Rogue and Nightcrawler. They are sent out to locate the new mutants that Cerebro-X has chosen, and to find out what happen to the previous team.
Throughout their years of battling evil around the world, the biological bodies of the X-Men have taken great amounts of battle damage. Bit by bit, the X-Men take damage that can not be repaired. But there is still the need to fight the good fight. Bit by bit, their bodies are replaced with cybernetic parts and finally due to age, it becomes necessary for a whole body replacement. With cybernetic bodies they now have immortality.
Freedom Force [Magneto; Juggernaut; The Goblin Queen; Exodus; Mystique; Sabretooth]
Magneto takes over the leadership of the X-Men and calls it Freedom Force. He leads the revolution against his former lieutenant, Cortez. The X-Men then pledge their lives to winning the war and regaining the throne of the island nation of Genosha that Magneto was forced to vacate.
The Magnificent Seven [Magneto; Cyclops; Jean Grey; Wolverine; Colossus; Storm; Cable]
The X-Men and other mutants lured the Sentinels into a winner-take-all battle for the future. But all does not go as planned. As the smoke leaves and through the devastation, there were seven pillars of strength, still standing tall and proud. They were the last of their kind. They are the war's lone survivors and its greatest heroes. The last of a team that once called themselves the X-Men, they are now known as The Magnificent Seven.

Wolverine killed Charles Xavier in a berserker rage and was subsequently paralyzed by a massive telekinetic backlash at the moment of Xavier's death. Damaged beyond the ability of his healing factors, he is now driven by guilt to lead the X-Men.
In the year 2008, the dream of mutants and humans living together peacefully has been completely shattered. Some of the X-Men have died, others have just disappeared, and the few survivors are struggle to live. The remaining X-Men find themselves on a quest to find their missing comrades. They fight an enemy that they do not know or understand, unaware that the mastermind behind everything that is going on is one of their own. The boy known as Angel, is in fact a demon in disguise, and what he has planned for his teammates' souls has yet to be revealed.

During a battle in the early part of the new millennium, the X-Men experienced a phenomenon known as "lost time" and ended up in the year 2017 after the battle. The issue of normal humans versus mutants had been washed out by advances in the field of genetics. By the year 2030, Scott & Jean Summers retired from protecting the world and are the proud parents of Charles and Jeannette. The rest of the X-Men are still on active duty, but no major villains or conflicts have arisen since the turn of the millennium. So the X-Men find themselves with more and more free time to do as they like.
The World is coming to an end. But as the old saying goes, history will repeat itself. After a thousand nuclear winters, the earth entered a prehistoric age once more. There was nothing left, save two things: Good and Evil. But this time when the world entered the prehistoric age, a portion of the modern age was still there. Cerebro was still up and running, and detected the presence of the evil. Cerebro then began gathering and training the mutants of this world in the old ways of the X-Men.
In the future, the X-Men have split into multiple two-man interplanetary teams designed to protect the cosmos. The Earth has become an interplanetary peacekeeping planet, having achieved a peaceful balance between man and mutant. Now all superbeings on the planet donate their services to the interplanetary peace effort. The X-Men were the first in line to serve the whole cosmos.
Weapon X is a code-name for a special response team formed by an international cabal. It is made up of both heroes and villains, and is controlled by a secret group. They believe that they can control the group with little or no resistance from the members. Weapon X operates in total secrecy, combating threats the world doesn't even know exist. Each member has joined for a reason all their own.
The three remnants of Professor Xavier's dream are fighting the final battle for the fate of the world. The Sentinels, realizing mutants will never stop being born, wage a battle to obliterate the world of all human beings. Only one thing is certain. In a world turned inside out, only these three remain to stand strong. They bear the burden of heroes. They are the X-Men.
