Synopsis
Deadpool takes umbrage with the fact that, after an extraordinarily long fight sequence (it took three full issues, after all), Daken shows up and tries to drown Wolverine before 'Pool gets the chance to do so. During the ensuing fight sequence between the merc with a mouth and Logan's son, Wolvie is extracted from the water and wakes up. Daken takes out DP and then turns on Wolverine. He is shot, however, by the Winter Soldier with a carbonadium bullet that negates his healing factor. This was, of course, Wolverine's master plan all along--to stop his son without killing him.

Synopsis
Deadpool and Spider-Man are recovering at the Baxter Building from an assault by Hit-Monkey when DP makes off with Spidey's costume and sneaks out the bathroom window. 'Pool fakes Spidey's death to draw Hit-Monkey out and is wildly successful as the deadly simian comes to the funeral. Unfortunately, the police seem much more worried about a machine gun toting mercenary than they are about a monkey in a suit. Spidey and Deadpool battle Hit-Monkey once again and things end in an explosive climax. Spidey gives 'Pool a lecture on being an angst ridden hero.

When Deadpool as The House and Grizzly hit the casino again, Weasel shows up to try and stop them. DP makes it look like Wildcard has incinerated The House. After the dust settles, a confused Weasel tries to sort out his options with Blind Al over the phone when 'Pool shows up to become the sole protector of Vegas. Realizing that becoming the heroic protector of Las Vegas would require him to report for work every day and hold regular business hours (read: having a "real" job), Deadpool gives up his dream of being Wildcard and quits. 'Pool is attacked by Ghost Rider who has decided that it is high time the merc with a mouth be held accountable for his countless crimes. Rather than showing him the gravity of his sins, however, GR's penance stare makes DP relive some of the nastier portions of his origin.
