Synopsis
The head of a local tribal casino asks Dex to find her granddaughter Charlotte. At Charlotte's apartment Dex is assaulted by Dill and Whale and warned off, then picked up by different thugs who take her to local crime lord Hector Marenco, who also wants to find Charlotte. Dex gets a call from Charlotte, and asks her to meet up at a local bar. Charlotte doesn't show. Leaving the bar, Dex is kidnapped at gunpoint by Dill and Whale, who take her to the river and shoot her, unaware she is wearing body armor.

Synopsis
Hector Marenco's daughter Isabel comes to Dex trying to find out what her father wanted from Dex. She thinks it's something about her brother Oscar. Dex talks to Oscar, who admits he had been dating Charlotte, but that they'd broken up. Dex tails Isabel to a hotel and finds Charlotte hiding out with her.

Synopsis
Outside the hotel, Dex, Isabel, and Charlotte encounter Dill and Whale. Isabel takes Charlotte and Dex's car, leaving Dex to escape on her own. Dex takes Isabel's car. Isabel agrees to meet with Dex to get her car back. She reveals Oscar had been using his relationship with Charlotte to target archaeological dig sites to steal tribal artifacts. When she found out, she hid from Oscar. Oscar, and henchmen Dill and Whale, are trying to find and kill Charlotte. Hector wants to clean up Oscar's mess. Isabel wants to protect her friend Charlotte, but also to show up Oscar and impress her father.

Synopsis
Isabel and Dex return to Isabel's cabin and find Charlotte has been abducted by Hector's man William. Oscar, Dill, and Whale show up and find documents in Charlotte's luggage that would have incriminated Oscar. They take them, but leave Dex and Charlotte's laptop, which turns out to have copies of the documents and emails from Oscar. Dex negotiates a deal with Hector, which saves Charlotte's life (and Dex's).
