Indexer Notes

Life with Archie #1 (September 1958) is the pilot issue for the series. While less adventure-oriented than the title eventually became, it introduced the idea of doing longer-than-usual Archie stories, and the U.N. trip provided the basis for the many stories where the gang takes a trip to some real location.

This issue appears to have been drawn by several different Archie artists. The centerpiece, the U.N. segment, is drawn by Harry Lucey.

This issue is divided into the following chapters: "Rise and Shine," "Please Be Seated," "Mummy Knows Best," "Water Boy," "U.N. Antics," "By Hook Or Cook," "And So To Bed."

Indexer Notes

Script identifiable as Sy Reit by the style and by an in-joke in the story: a hospital P.A. announcer calls for "Dr. Reit" on p. 9. (On p. 7, the announcer calls for "Dr. White," referring to Bob White, the artist.)

When reprinted in Archie Double Digest (Archie, 2011 series), writing is incorrectly credited to Frank Doyle. Inks and Letters are credited to Marty Epp.
