- Synopsis
- Corum Rath recalls his youth growing up in the Ninth Tride and his desire to one day rule Atlantis. Rath is angry that the Crown of Thorns has come down leaving Atlantis vulnerable, and plans to tap the dark secret magic that the Silent School has locked away. When Magister Loke refuses access to this dark magic, Rath has Kadaver defeat Loke and Kadaver takes over as Magister. Rath then has Kadaver open the vault below the Silent School to access the magic of the Abyssal Dark.

- Synopsis
- Jurok Byss and King Shark are leading the Undercurrent to victory over Rath's men, until a transformed Kadaver arrives and transforms the Drift soldiers into magical creatures whom the rebels cannot stop. Aquaman arrives and battles the magical creatures allowing the Undercurrent to escape, but Murk arrives to carry out Rath's order to kill Aquaman. Meanwhile Leot and Urcell convince the Atlantean elders to strip Rath of the throne, however Rath uses the magic of the Abyssal Dark to give himself supreme power.

- Synopsis
- Aquaman and Murk join forces to infiltrate the throne room to take down Corum Rath, but while Aquaman wants to capture him to stand trial, Murk wants to assassinate him. Unfortunately, neither are aware that Rath has transformed in a monster with vast magical power that can overcome them. Meanwhile, the remaining rebels try to find a means of magical power to defeat Rath.

- Synopsis
- Aquaman and Murk's attack is not to stop the new transformed Rath. Murk is badly injured and Aquaman brings him to the Widowhood for help. Vulko seeks to convince the elder ghosts of Atlantis to help the rebels against Rath, but are interrupted when Kadaver and an army of transformed Atlanteans attacks. Rath launches an attack on the Widowhood and the rebels including Aquaman.

- Synopsis
- Transformed by the Abyssal Dark, Corum Rath is determined to destroy Atlantis. Aquaman and Dolphin try to stop him and fail. When all appears lost, Mera appears leading a Xebellian army, and helps to turn the tide, allowing Aquaman to defeat Corum Rath and the Abyssal Dark. The god from the Abyssal Dark tells Aquaman that his wish will come true, and soon after Atlantis rises to the surface.

Mera gained the loyalty of the Xebellian army in Mera: Queen of Atlantis (DC, 2018 series) #6.
Atlantis storyline continues in Suicide Squad (DC, 2016 series) #45.
Aquaman and the rest of the Justice League donned Tenth Metal armor to stop the forces of the Dark Multiverse in Dark Nights: Metal (DC, 2017 series) #6. It has been shown that the armor can grant the wearer their secret wish, although not as expected. In this case, it is revealed that Aquaman wished for a place for him that was of both land and sea, as a result, Atlantis rises to the surface.
