Indicia title is "THE RIFLEMAN, No. 1009". Code number is T.RIFLEMAN O.S. #1009-597. Copyright 1959 by Four Star-Sussex. First and only Rifleman Four Color. Becomes The Rifleman (Dell 1960 series) with #2 (January-March 1960). Based on the ABC TV series "The Rifleman". All instances of "The Rifleman" as a logo in this issue have an asterisk at the end with a note somewhere else on the page that says "*Trademark".

Synopsis
Lucas joins a posse after the Cattleman's Association is robbed of $3,000. Meanwhile Mark goes fishing at a nearby creek. The posse finds the robbers and Lucas wings one of them and his horse bolts. Mark finds the horse and takes him home. When Lucas returns he finds the stolen money and takes it to the sheriff. After he leaves the robbers come by looking for a horse and Mark stalls them until Lucas returns.
