Indexer Notes

"Reprinted by popular demand". Meta-moment: At the story’s opening, Tweety hides from Sylvester by assuming a still-pose in front of the cover of an issue of Tweety Comics, at a conveniently-placed open-air newsstand! There is also a comic book with Bugs Bunny on the cover, as well as “The Rocketeers” with an approximation of “The Rocketing Radish” – the titular spacecraft that Tony Strobl drew for the lead story of Bugs Bunny (Dell, 1952 Series) #31 June-July 1953. The scientist, on a newspaper front page, who declares there to be no life on the Moon is named “Prof. Crag”. A “one-less-letter reference” to longtime Western Publishing editor Chase Craig? The story takes place entirely at night, adding to the faux-foreboding atmosphere.
