Dan Brand [White Indian]; Tipi; General Burgoyne; Abel Bannis
Synopsis
The British plan to crush the rebellion with a north/south pincer movement. The traitorous Albel Bannis, who was a scout for Washington, agrees to lead the British through the woods. Dan and Tipi overhear the plan and escape via canoe, closely pursued by Bannis and British troops. Dan breaches the river gauntlet and his canoe goes over a waterfall. Both he and Tipi survive and travel on. A week later at Saratoga the American forces ambush the British and Dan fights Bannis until the traitor is unconscious.
