Hilo; D.J.; Dr. Bloodmoon; Izzy; Razorwark; Gina; Polly; D.J.'s family; government agents; Hilo's robotic double
Synopsis
Hilo's memory returns so that he remembers fleeing Razorwark, and Izzy defecting to Razorwark. Back on earth, Razorwark raises his robot army and isolates D.J.'s city under a force field.
Hilo despairs at battling Razorwark, but insists that Dr. Bloodmoon send him and D.J. back to earth. She warns him that being a hero sometimes means losing everything.
Izzy helps Razorwark assemble his robotic army, and Hilo confronts them. Polly, Gina, and D.J. rush to follow Hilo, and D.J.'s mother races after them.
Gina confers magical powers on the townsfolk so that they can help delay the robotic army. With his added strength from Izzy, Hilo battles Razorwark to stop him from exterminating the humans of Jannus, where Razorwark plans a robot home world.
Razorwark drains Hilo's augmented energy into himself, then sacrifices himself by raining it down onto the robot army, giving them life and emotions. Polly takes the robots into her own thinly-settled dimension, where they will be able to live their own lives and build their own society. D.J. discovers that with his robotic energy drained, Hilo has become human.
