Synopsis
8 year old Bruce Wainwright has a fascination for Batman comics, due in part to his name. When his parents are murdered and his uncle Alfred is unable to take care of him, young Bruce is sent to private school. Upset over his parents' deaths, he wishes for justice, and soon a mysterious Bat Creature starts appearing to fight criminals and to track down the killer of Bruce's parents.

Synopsis
Now a young man, Bruce Wainwright spends his days studying at Harvard while also working at the family business Wainwright Investments under his uncle Alfred. Bruce seems to have a knack for making key investments that are very profitable for his company. He also urges Alfred for the company to start a victim support group to offer opportunities to other children who have been victims of crime. The first victim they help is 14 year old Robin Helgeland, whose parents were murdered. Meanwhile at night, the Bat Creature continues to fight crime, and Bruce shares a connection with him.

Synopsis
Bruce and the Bat Creature continue to fight crime, but Bruce grows frustrated when not all crimes are resolved neatly. Investigating the origin of the Bat Creature, Bruce learns that he had a twin brother Thomas who was stillborn, and believes that the Bat Creature is the spirit of Thomas looking out for Bruce. Learning that Bruce has a connection to the Bat Creature, Hoover points Bruce in the direction of criminals the police have not been able to find evidence on for the Bat Creature to go after. When Hoover asks them to investigate political corruption, dirty secrets are exposed.

Synopsis
Bruce has fallen into depression, and spends his nights as the Bat Creature becoming more and more violent. Jepson asks Robin to do her best to help Bruce as he becomes increasingly paranoid and believes that the entire city is working against him. Robin tries to get through to Bruce before he can use the Bat Creature to destroy Boston.
