Synopsis
The Cartwrights are winning the race to deliver lumber for the railroad when competitor Tom Bannerman dynamites their skid road; he aims to be "bull of the woods." When the Cartwrights set up an overhead transfer rig to bypass the break, Bannerman tries to dynamite that too. When a bear attacks Bannerman, Hoss kills the bear and snuffs out the fuse. An injured Bannerman acknowledges that he owes his life to Hoss and deems Ben Cartwright the bull of the woods.

Synopsis
Finding Spanish armor in a cave, Bedrock Barnes tries it on. When stage robbers enter the cave to hide their loot, the armored man emerging from the dark and the disembodied braying of the donkey terrify them into fleeing. Bedrock sees that the loot is from Wells Fargo, and sets out to return it.

Synopsis
Charro Pete's gang run off the Cartwright party's horses, but the Cartwrights wound and capture Charro Pete. Making their way on foot they buy mustangs from the Rico family, taking little Sarita with them to Virginia City. There they find her father about to be hanged, mistaken for Charro Pete. Ben stops the hanging and delivers Charro Pete to the marshal, who makes the Ricos guests in his home.
