Synopsis
Nora is social secretary for the snobbish Mrs. Townley, who hires Michael as her ghostwriter for a book on high-society she intends to “write.” Nora and Michael fall in love, but Mrs. Townley insists he spend all of his time with her. Nora is angry when Michael fawns over his employer, but discovers he’s been writing a book of his own about Mrs. Townley, “a woman…whose heart is the size and hardness of a flawed diamond!” Michael and Nora depart together.

Synopsis
Cynthia and her high school sweetheart Roger both attend Carvel University. She pledges Alpha Phi, her mother’s old sorority. Roger has to work part-time and study, and her sorority sisters say he’s harming Cynthia’s chance to be freshman queen. Cynthia dates frat boy Dave, who endorses her candidacy. When one of Dave’s practical jokes threatens Roger’s job, Cynthia reveals the truth and Dave is expelled. Cynthia won’t be freshman queen but she gets Roger back.

Anne decides to run for town council president against Jimmy, believing his party is “a gang of crooks.” She begins to doubt this after meeting him, but her campaign manager Bud insists Jimmy is corrupt and produces a photo of him with “the dirtiest grafter in town!” Jimmy proves the photo is a fake; Anne denounces Bud, gives up her candidacy, and will marry Jimmy.
