- Synopsis
- The Panther spirit, angered that T'Challa is doing nothing to stop the apartheid actions of the country of Azania, leaves T'Challa and enters the body of a tortured Azanian transforming him into a powerful "Man-Cat". The Man-Cat goes on a rampage killing members of the Azanian apartheid authorities. The Azanians think that T'Challa himself is behind the attacks. Without the Panther spirit, T'Challa begins to lose the confidence of the Wakandan people.

- Synopsis
- The Man-Cat's continuing attacks against the apartheid Azanian government emboldens the Azanians, thinking the Black Panther is behind the attacks, to revolt. The Azanian government brutally puts down the revolt. T'Challa survives a challenged to his leadership of Wakanda. Azanian general Magnus Moorbecx sends the Supremacists to kill T'Challa, but even without the power of the Panther spirit he is able to single-handedly defeat the group.

The Azanian government orders an immediate cease-fire and begins the process of ending their policy of apartheid.

- Synopsis
- T'Challa arrives at Anton Pretorius' estate. Upon arrival he is fired upon by Miyo Moshigo who is hiding in a tree. T'Challa manages to kick the Uzi out of Moshigo's hands. Moshigo tackles T'Challa sending both of them toward a security wall full of spikes. T'Challa managed to turn himself in mid-air unknowingly causing Moshigo to impale himself upon the spikes. Moshigo quickly dies. T'Challa is chased by guard dogs as he rushes toward the main house. Before T'Challa can reach the house, his foot is caught in a bear trap.

Spotting Pretorius and his mother, Ramonda, on a balcony, T'Challa is confronted by Elmer Gore. The two battle and Gore begins to drown T'Challa in Pretorius' pool.

- Black Panther [T'Challa]; Ramonda (introduction); Anton Pretorius (villain); Elmer Gore (villain, dies)
- Synopsis
- T'Challa frees himself from Gore's grasp. Gore attempts to gut T'Challa with his knife but fails and stabs himself in the throat, dying from the massive injury. T'Challa makes his way to Anton Pretorius' house and finally finds Ramonda, his mother. Ramonda tells him how, when he was a small child, she came to South Africa for her father's funeral. During her time there she joined a protest against the police and was arrested. Pretorius freed her and made her "disappear," imprisoning her in his home. T'Challa confronts Pretorius but decides not to kill him and leaves with Ramonda for Wakanda.
