Issue Notes

The second transitional issue of Comedy Comics as it further diverged from prior title Daring Mystery Comics. This issue still has numerous hero/adventure features, but none continue directly from Daring Mystery and there is more emphasis on humor.

Art attributions noted as coming from Michael J. Vassallo are from the updated version of his Alter Ego article on Vince Fago published at ComicArtVille: http://www.comicartville.com/vincefago.htm

The on-sale date is from the publication date recorded in the Catalog of Copyright Entries, Part 2, Periodicals, 1942, New Series, Vol. 37, No. 2.

Indexer Notes

It is highly unlikely that this is Lily Renée as she was first hired by Fiction House in 1943, per Renée in Alter Ego v3#85.
Who's Who lists "Reney" as a pen name for Renée and mentions this feature, and Michael J. Vassallo also references this, but it is not clear if that is based on viewing the art or the Who's Who credit. Renée made no mention of working for Timely in her interview, nor of signing any name other than "L. Renée".
