Gambler Durak hits it rich on the french coast, after having made a deal with the devil. "Monsieur Lucifer" claims his soul, of course. In trying to back out of the deal, Durak only gets in deeper. The fires of hell await his soul.
"In 1932, in a small Connecticut town, Donald Scott committed a murder..." Artist Scott paints a portrait of a strange man. As the painting attacks him, he slashes it with a knife. Simultaneously the stranger is slashed. Police bring Scott, who claims to have killed the devil, to the madhouse.
Four monsters break loose from a side show. They have been brought to life by the evil midget ringmaster. Animal tamer Zita tries to command the bunch, buf fails in the end. Turning on her, the monsters can be captured and hanged.
"On a certain road in Wales, a certain narrow spot is held in awe by the local peasantry..." A farmer witnesses a wagon full of headless ghosts pass him by in the night.
A husband drives his wife to suicide. Her ghost continues to haunt him seeking revenge. The man's brother cannot prevent him from committing suicide as well. The woman is avenged.
Two men battle some madmen who try to resurrect dead bodies.

Again one of those Ace text stories, where there's a big confusing frightening battle scene in the first half, and the second half of the story tries to explain what just happened - and possibly why.
A boy and his horse are best friends. They enter a race and win. The horse is sold and the boy goes looking for him. The boy catches pneumonia and dies, but his ghost rides a final race with his beloved horse called Spook.
