Joe and Janet, despite their previous misadventures with Professor Transistor's inventions, go to his laboratory to make Joe smart enough to pass his algebra exam. Unfortunately the high intelligence turns out to be trouble and Joe returns to get the Professor to reverse the effect.

In the opening panels, Joe and Janet discuss their troubles with a vitamin ray that made them four inches tall and a beauty lamp that made them invisible. However, the vitamin ray story from Archie's Mad House #21 featured Professor Sy Klops, not Professor Transistor.
