Reads just like an early episode of the TV show.
This story has rectangular dialogue balloons, in accordance with the “Early Gold Key style”.
An unusual addendum appears at the end of the story... "Editor's Note: Test your detective ability. See if you can find the clues that helped Perry solve all six problems."
"Ben Cagey" is a parody of 1960s TV doctor “Ben Casey”, played by actor Vince Edwards. "Stoney Quirk" is a parody of 1960s TV character "Stoney Burke", played by actor Jack Lord. Oddly, the character of "Stoney Burke" was not a doctor but a rodeo rider.
Good dialogue exchange:
BARNEY: "These are pre-stone age people, and this is a pre-stone age civilization! They live underground!"
PRE-STONE AGER: You two must be men of the future... We read about you in our science fiction books!
FRED: You've got us wrong! We live in the present... in a modern city outside these caves!
PRE-STONE AGER: But that's impossible! The world hasn't COOLED-OFF enough yet to have a city outside!
