This story calls back to the first issue of The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries (2021) and the lead story from Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? #92 (2018), both by this story's writer Ivan Cohen.
Missed Opportunity: The modern Scooby-Doo stories from DC Comics often serve up meta humor and clever references to the myriad tropes of Scooby-Doo. A popular villain from the original "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" TV series was "The Creeper" (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0907035/?ref_=ttep_ep3), and it would have been a natural for Shaggy and Scooby to momentarily confuse "Steve Ditko's Creeper" with their classic foe.
Good Bit: A character questions the focus of the museum's exhibit on famous detectives:
PANEL ONE: "Why only celebrate the DETECTIVES in the stories? What about the CRIMINALS?"
PANEL TWO: "What would BATMAN be without THE JOKER?"
BATMAN (off panel and in smaller font): "Pretty happy, actually."
