Indexer Notes

"Assignments received via self-destructing reels of audio tape" was a hallmark of the popular television series "Mission: Impossible" (CBS Television Network, 1966-1973).

Phil DeLara's art was in transition for this issue. He draws Tom, Jerry, and Tuffy in the classic style, but draws the shoplifter in the more modern "DePatie–Freleng" style he would employ as artist on the then-new Pink Panther (Western, 1971 Series) title - with the character looking like a larger, bulkier version of Pink Panther's recurring comedic foil known as "Little Big Nose Guy".

This story has snappier dialogue than usual.
