Indexer Notes

However soft-pedaled in the art, the Bird of Doom is uncharacteristically killed on-panel.

For the actual story, “The Bird of Doom” would be an “unofficial title” derived from the issue’s cover. The story itself is untitled. “The Bird of Doom” would become its “official title” when Western Publishing reprinted the story in Mighty Mouse (Western, 1964 Series) #164 (July 1965), adding the title to the opening splash panel. Western also provided a new “Mighty Mouse” logo and produced its own coloring for their reprint of this story.

Mighty Mouse; Billy (boy mouse); Bobby (boy mouse); movie director; movie crew; movie actors (dressed as knights); Fisheye Fox

Reprints
Keywords
autograph; cape; flying; robberies

Indexer Notes

Apparently, Mighty Mouse's ability to fly comes from his cape - at least in this particular story. However, his other abilities remain intact, allowing this cape-less, ground-bound mouse to eventually best the flying fox. At story's end, Mighty Mouse gives the boys his "autograph"... in the form of a good spanking.

Keywords
circus; extortion; lions; professional jealousy

Indexer Notes

"Ronzoni" was a popular brand of macaroni and may have sounded good as an Italian name-parody. Ronzoni was depicted as a cat-character, while all other characters in the story were mice - no doubt further emphasizing his evil.
