- Synopsis
- Waitress Penny quits and takes the money owed to her from the cash register. She’s hired as a maid by the Lee family and learns she’s been accused of robbery by the diner owner. Agent Alex gets Penny a job as a dancer in a nightclub and they fall in love. Penny is arrested after a jealous suitor denounces her. However, witnesses are located who testify that Penny only took what was owed to her, and her boss later framed her for robbery. Penny and Alex will wed.
In the splash panel, Penny introduces herself as "I'm Penny Thurston." However, on page 3 of the story she says her last name is "Bland" and this is how she is referred to for the rest of the story.
