Deke says Les is going to marry Capri, and a depressed Peg loses her job. Les shows up and says he loves Peg--also, Capri married someone else, so everything is alright.

Synopsis:

They break up and Jan falls in love with Duane, an assistant district attorney. Mort is sent to prison for embezzlement and asks Jan to visit him as a friend. She hides this from Duane. Mort escapes and is arrested at Jan’s apartment. Duane vouches for her innocence.

However, they fall in love and get engaged. Barby introduces him to her working-class sister Mae and Mae’s husband Jared, Barby’s ex-fiancé, but in such a way as to humiliate them. Tevis breaks up with her. When Mae falls ill, Barby nurses her and runs the household until she recovers. Tevis returns and they are reunited.
