Pam’s father wants her to marry rich Guy, but she leaves home and gets a job as a cab driver instead. She and fellow cabbie Kenny fall in love. Saving money for marriage goes too slowly and Pam suggests her father might help them, but Kenny refuses. Pam goes home and agrees to marry Guy, but changes her mind and returns to Kenny’s arms.
Rami; Pauline Marks; Edward Marks; Maharaja Akbar Ali; Mirah
Pauline travels to India with her explorer father. They stay with Maharaja Akbar Ali, whose son Rami is attracted to Pauline. He proposes to her, and this makes his sister Mirah jealous. Mirah explains that Rami is the Maharaja’s adopted son and she loves him. Pauline, who feels the cultural differences are too great anyway, decides to step aside and leaves the city with her father.

Fashion designer Rene finances her sister Pat’s college education. Pat dumps her lawyer boyfriend Les for boxer Hank. Rene decides to break them up by flirting with Hank herself. Hank says he doesn’t love Pat but does love Rene; Pat catches them kissing and says she’s decided Les is the man for her. Rene confesses that she has actually fallen in love with Hank, and they kiss.
Judy Fallon; Dirk Weaver; Paul Sinclair; Grigsbe; Jimmy
Dirk is a government troubleshooter sent to convince the citizens of Stanton that new government facilties will improve their city. Local schoolteacher Judy is against the plan, but her fiancé Paul, editor of the local newspaper, can’t oppose the will of the business community. Dirk tells her a local man was tipped off in advance and bought up land cheaply in hopes of making a big profit. Judy mentions this to Paul and he shoots her, because he was the source of the tip. Paul is arrested, Judy survives, and Dirk marries her.
