- Synopsis
- College freshman Ed falls for Sylvia, a self-confident coed who mocks and dislikes him. By the next year, Sylvia is dating football hero Jack. Sylvia tricks Ed into kissing her to win a bet, and Ed decides to forget her by dating nice girl Judy. Ed graduates and becomes a noted scientist, with Judy as his secretary. Seven years later, Jack goes to work for Ed and through him Sylvia learns Ed’s discoveries may make him rich, so she pretends she loves him. Ed learns Sylvia is a fortune-hunter but risks his life to save her after a lab explosion, then tells her off. He now knows he loves Judy.
This is a rare example of a romance comic story told from the male viewpoint, and Ed's opening narration points this out: “Must all love stories be told by girls-—and about girls? How’s about giving a man a break for a change?”
