- Synopsis
- Gail, Cal and Blackie grow up together in the slums of New York. Cal is her “steady” but Blackie can show Gail a good time because he’s always got money. Blackie is sent to prison for two years on Cal’s testimony. Cal works and goes to college, and when Blackie is released, Gail starts dating him again and decides to elope with him. Cal exposes Blackie as a car thief, and they fight. Gail shoots and wounds Blackie to save Cal’s life, realizing Cal is the man she loves.
On page 8, panel 2, Cal punches Blackie but the colorist gives Blackie blonde hair (like Cal) instead of black, making it confusing for the reader about who's hitting who.
