Synopsis
Namor attacks a group of eskimos and throws their idol into the sea. When the ice melts, the figure trapped within turns out to be Captain America, in suspended animation since the end of World War II. The Avengers rescue Cap and return to New York. An alien figure turns our heroes to stone. When Cap and Rick Jones track him down, the alien agrees to restore the Avengers if they agree to help him recover his broken space ship in return. When doing so, the Avengers are attacked by Namor and his people. The restored spaceship ultimately drives off Namor and his men.

Synopsis
President Roosevelt institutes the top-secret program, "Project Rebirth." In a secret lab, scientist Dr. Erskine gives army 4F reject and volunteer Steve Rogers the "Super-soldier serum," which turns him into a virtual superman. But a Nazi spy who got past security murders Erskine before he can create an army of men like Rogers, and is killed when he runs headlong into some electrical machinery. Rogers becomes the costumed Captain America, as a symbol of freedom, and begins a career of smashing spy rings and the like. When Bucky discovers Steve's double-identity, he becomes Cap's partner.

Synopsis
Matt Murdock saves a blind man from an oncoming truck but is struck blind himself by a radioactive canister during the rescue. The radioactivity heightens Matt's other senses and gives him an uncanny radar sense. Matt graduates college and begins practicing law with his college roommate Foggy. Matt's father, a boxer, is killed by the Fixer after he refuses to throw a fight. Matt designs a costume and a billy club (from his cane) and takes his derogatory childhood nickname "Daredevil." Daredevil tracks down the Fixer and the man who shot his father.

Synopsis
Nick Fury reports to the Pentagon, encountering Life Model Decoys: replicas of himself. He is driven in a gadget-filled car that converts to flying mode. Fury learns about SHIELD, an international organization whose job is to stop HYDRA, fanatics bent on world domination. Fury meets Tony Stark, in charge of SHIELD's weaponry, who tells Fury he was chosen to lead SHIELD. Fury acts quickly when he finds a hidden bomb, throwing it out a window moments before it explodes. Fury learns he is aboard the Heli-Carrier, SHIELD's mobile headquarters. Realizing the impending danger Fury accepts the job.
