Synopsis:
David sees a psychiatrist about his recurring nightmare of being suffocated in an hourglass. Under hypnosis, he reveals that he was a prisoner of the Japanese during World War II, and collaborated with his captors. As a result, many of his fellow Americans died, including some in a building constructed in hourglass-shape. Dr. Tate tells David he can't treat him. David is later sent to Minnesota by his boss to inspect a new type of grain elevator. Once inside, he's trapped and suffocated by grain. Both the elevator owner and Dr. Tate had brothers who died in the POW camp because of David.

Synopsis:
Wealthy Matilda turns down Tom's proposal, saying she wants to marry jungle man Kaza. Matilda and her companion Dorothy travel to Africa and use her influence to force the commissioner to ask Kaza to guide her on safari. Tom follows and tries to ambush Kaza. Kaza defeats him but when he learns that Tom wants to marry Matilda (for her money), he allows Tom to pretend to thrash him in combat. Matilda decides to wed Tom and Kaza is left with the much younger and more attractive Dorothy.

Synopsis:
When Pierre learns his wife Gigi is pregnant, he takes a job as the official executioner to earn money for his family. He doesn't tell Gigi what he's doing, and decides to quit because the strain is too much for him. However, Gigi had learned the truth and began an affair with another man, then murdered him. She asks Pierre to be her executioner and he agrees. When he gets home, he is shocked to see his young son has built a toy guillotine.

Synopsis:
Over her husband's objections, Martha plants a cactus in the yard of their home. George broods over the plant and one night decides to chop it down, but the cactus seizes the axe and kills George instead. The police think a prowler did it. Some time later, Martha agrees to marry Brent, but cactus uproots itself and strangles him. Then the plant enters the house and hugs Martha, crushing her to death.
