Synopsis
Rita moves to New York and bumps into songwriter Joe from her hometown. Joe introduces her to middle-aged playboy Harry. Rita postpones her job hunt and spends her savings on gowns to impress Harry, whom she thinks will propose marriage soon. But Harry tells her their romance was just for “kicks” and Joe says he’s no longer interested because she cheated on him, so she goes home in disgrace.

Synopsis
Lee is Dorothy’s boyfriend but she’s tired of their boring evenings at home. Her sister Ann entertains Lee while Dorothy goes out with a client from Ann’s work. Dorothy continues to deceive Lee while Ann keeps him company. Ann and Lee fall in love but Dorothy accuses of Ann of stealing Lee away. However, she sees the error of her ways and gives Ann and Lee’s romance her blessing.
Dreamer Anita has a crush on Bud, an engineering student who’s a boarder in her mother’s home. Bud starts to date Anita’s neighbor Leslie. Bud takes Ann to a square dance and Leslie mocks Ann’s melodramatic attitude about life. Bud says he loves Anita but she’s always feeling sorry for herself. Anita decides to be a good sport and become more sociable.

Synopsis
Margaret works as a translator for an export company and dreams of a romantic Latin lover. Her boss asks her to entertain visiting Carlos Rodriquez, an important customer. They hit it off and Margaret thinks he’s going to propose marriage to her, but he just wants to hire her as his secretary (and possibly mistress). Margaret brushes him off and is fired as a result. However, fellow worker Eddie also quits his job and says Margaret can accompany him to South America—as his wife.
