Synopsis
When her boyfriend Mike develops a crush on her older sister Ellen, high school student Babs tries to coach Ellen’s three boyfriends into being more “masterful,” hoping Ellen will marry one of them. Her scheme fails, but Ellen gets married anyway: to sailor Todd. Mike tells Babs that he doesn’t love Ellen, he loves her.

Synopsis
Doris marries lawyer Herb but soon begins to feel he’s taking her for granted. When Herb refuses to advance her the money she needs to become a partner in a beauty parlor, she goes to former boyfriend Chet for a loan. Herb is not pleased, even when the business is a success. Doris learns she’s pregnant but doesn’t tell Herb. Herb apologizes to Doris for his previous attitude and they each admit they still love each other and want to make their marriage work.

Synopsis
Rita and Paul have been dating for two years but he hasn’t asked her to marry him. She wonders if they should break up; he admits he was going to propose but now he’s been drafted and doesn't feel he should ask Rita to risk her future by marrying him. After Paul enters the service he changes his mind and they’re married at his Army camp. Paul is still worried and Rita wonders if the marriage was a mistake. Paul is reassured by the chaplain that “Uncle Sam” will care for his wife if Paul is killed in action, and now he can fully commit to Rita and their marriage.
