Ellen Landon; Bill; Vance Foreman; Julia Mars; Steve Rack(editor); Jim
Ellen, the literary editor of a newspaper, falls in love with author Vance Foreman, although they’ve never met. When Vance comes to town on a book tour, she interviews him and they kiss. Invited to a weekend party at the home of Vance’s publisher, Ellen overhears Julia say she’s the one who wrote Vance’s books. Ellen writes a scathing expose, then learns Vance’s most recent book—where he declared his love for her—was written by him, personally. Fortunately, Ellen’s editor changed her story and kept Vance’s secret. She and Vance will wed.
Charlotte Garner; Ted Garner; Aunt Rhea; George Breemer; Mrs. Breemer
Charlotte and Ted get married. Ted’s chance for a promotion at work is spoiled by the gaudy presents Charlotte’s Aunt Rhea has given them, since his boss decides Ted’s competitor for the position needs the money more. Charlotte returns the gifts to her aunt, explains the matter to the wife of Ted’s boss, and Ted gets the new job after all.
