Issue Notes

Interior content largely reprinted from Blue Ribbon Comics (St. John, 1949 Series) #3 (June 1949). There were two prior Blue Ribbon issues featuring Heckle and Jeckle causing this series to begin with #3.

As Blue Ribbon Comics #3 is regarded in terms of issue numbering as "Heckle and Jeckle #2" by its publisher, these stories would have been printed in two consecutive issues.

In addition to the publisher’s address, the indicia also lists an address for “Terrytoons, Inc.”, 38 Centre Ave., New Rochelle, N.Y.

Indexer Notes

This was originally a seven-page story, but only page one is printed here. At a glance, this edited version looks like a one-page gag story - until you read it and discover no punchline or kicker at its end. There is no indication to the reader that this anything but a gag that falls flat. Its later reprint, in Paul Terry's Comics (St. John, 1951 Series) #96 (December 1952), is printed in its entirety.
