- Synopsis
- Alice and her fiancé Jerry buy a corner grocery store together. Alice begins to economize drastically and spends all her time on store business. Jerry finally breaks up with her because of her “money-mad mania” and leaves. Business also falls off due to Alice’s bad business decisions. Alice realizes “how stupid and wrong I was!” and changes the way she runs the store. Business picks up again; Jerry returns and reconciles with a contrite Alice.

- Synopsis
- Margot works for struggling inventors Professor Furey and Tom. When they receive a $10,000 check, Margot keeps it a secret and convinces Tom’s girlfriend Janice that Tom should give up. Tom quits and Margot’s fiancé Ralph is hired in his place. Margot then pretends the check just arrived, only to learn a disheartened Professor Furey has just sold the rights for $300! Ralph and Furey discover Margot's perfidy; Ralph breaks up with her. Margot convinces the purchasers of the invention to hire Furey, Tom and Ralph. She’s left alone because “I only cheated myself in the end.”
