- Synopsis
- Gale falls in love with medical student John while he’s home on vacation. They become engaged but events occur which make Gale suspect John’s mother and sister don’t approve. John becomes jealous of Gale’s ex-boyfriend Steve and calls off the wedding. However, when he overhears his sister and mother tell Gale that they didn’t approve of her as John’s potential wife, John asserts himself. He and Gale will be married, no matter what his family thinks.

- Synopsis
- Wealthy Carlotta is engaged to lawyer Stanley, but her friend Denny suggests Stanley is mostly interested in her fortune. Carlotta pretends she won’t have any family money after their marriage, and Stanley balks. They break up, just another of the boyfriends Carlotta discovered were gold-diggers. Carlotta gets a job as a store clerk incognito and falls for her supervisor, Walter. However, she discovers Walter knows her true identity and also craves her fortune. Carlotta decides she’ll marry faithful Denny instead.

- Synopsis
- Peggy marries Tommy after a drunken party and immediately regrets it. The marriage is annulled. Some time later, Peggy falls in love with Alan.When their engagement is announced, Tommy reappears and blackmails her. Peggy is afraid Alan and his stuffy family will be scandalized if they learn of her past. Ray Mann asks Love Diary readers if Peggy should come clean or clam up.
Ray Mann's introduction refers to Peggy as "Peggy D" but in the story her last name is given as Newford.

- Synopsis
- Margo’s father lives in a remote cabin on the bayou with his daughter Margo. Margo brings injured hunter Dean to their home to recover, and they fall in love. Margo learns her father was a doctor who fled after being charged with malpractice, and she decides to stay on the bayou with him, giving up a chance for happiness with Dean. Her father returns to face the legal charges and learns he was cleared years before. Dean and Margo can now marry with a clean conscience.

- Synopsis
- Lois enjoys her exciting life as a cigarette girl at the Hotshot Club, where her boyfriend is bandleader Larry. A doctor prescribes a long rest on a farm for Lois. She’s bored by the country life but falls for farmer Tom. Returning to the city, Lois learns she’s lost her job and Larry is dating her replacement. Lois returns to the farm to marry Tom.
