- Synopsis
- As a child, Joyce developed a habit of telling lies and continues this as an adult. She dates Van, a salesman for the firm where she works, and continues her practice of lying, to him and others. When her lies are exposed, Joyce swears to stop, and she and Van become engaged. However, she pretends her mother’s engagement ring is the one Van gave her, and their boss therefore thinks Van is “an untrustworthy liar” and “an irresponsible spendthrift.” Van breaks up with Joyce. Basically the identical story premise as “Liar” in Love Diary 2 (October 1949).
