- Synopsis
- Because Ellen’s mother is the maid for the wealthy Van Gould family, Ellen gets secondhand dresses from Gloria Van Gould. Ronnie mistakes her for one of Gloria’s rich friends and Ellen maintains the deception to date him. Ellen falls in love with him. Later, Ronnie demands “repayment” (in kisses) for his generosity: he knew the truth about her all along. When Ellen refuses, Ronnie wishes her luck with “the next sucker who comes along!” and departs.

- Synopsis
- Lawyer Grace joins the Ordway law firm, even though fellow worker Alex doesn’t think women should be lawyers. Grace agrees to date him, planning to put him in his place. She also agrees to represent Carl when Alex says he “is as guilty as sin!” Carl says he’s innocent but the man who can clear him has left town. Grace believes him and her spirited defense gets Carl acquitted. They also fall in love, but then she learns Carl was guilty. He holds her hostage but Alex brings the police and Carl is arrested. Grace and Alex kiss.
