- Synopsis
- Sally’s boyfriend Steve plays professional football but isn’t good enough. He refuses to acknowledge his failure and Sally criticises him for it; they break up. Steve is cut from the team and realises he has to give up on that dream and start life anew. He and Sally reconcile.

- Synopsis
- Ella is engaged to Arnie but finds herself attracted to singer Lance. Despite feeling “cheap and wanton,” she has an affair with Lance, even though he freely admits they don’t have a future together. Ella loans Lance money to pay his gambling debts, but he’s murdered anyway. Since the money was in a joint account, Arnie knows what Ella did. She begs him to forgive her, and they agree to start afresh.
