Bob Franklin is in love with Sonya Granet, who is haunted by a childhood trauma. She thinks she was promised to do the devil's bidding. During their short marriage, Bob discovers that Sonya indeed is a witch.
On the Caribbean island of Hondo tourist Jack Carney learns oft the native voodoo belief. The touch of a zombie can heal the sick, but will kill the healthy. Carney pries on a secretive native assembly and witnesses forbidden ceremonies. He gets caught, touched by a zombie and joins the ranks of the undead.
