Harry is raving and bedridden after once again taking LSD and when his father finds his son's friends gathering around in support, he throws them out. Cracking under the pressure of his damaged son and failing business, Norman regains his memory of being the Green Goblin and the secret identity of his deadliest foe. Trying to get to Spider-Man where it hurts, the Goblin captures Gwen and brings her to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge. During the fight, Gwen falls from the bridge and when Spider-Man tries to catch her with a web line, her neck snaps.
