Diana weds assistant director Walt. He wants her to use her friendship with movie studio head Jim (she had been Jim’s secretary) to further his career. Walt throws them together and doesn’t even complain when Jim embraces her. Walt is promoted to director but when Diana—who has fallen in love with Jim—asks her husband for a divorce, he begs her to stay. In a drunken, jealous rage, Walt tries to murder Jim but ends up dead himself. Jim and Diana will be together at last.
Struggling actress Janis is hired by Karl Norton, then learns he wants her to help smuggle diamonds across the border. She is threatened with death unless she complies. Janis becomes friendly with Karl’s sympathetic henchman Alex but rejects his romantic advances because he’s a criminal. However, Alex is actually an undercover FBI agent. After Karl is captured, Alex and Janis can freely express their love.

Synopsis
