Synopsis
Mr. Rich has forgotten the combination to a safe, so Jackie uses his hypnotic powers to get Mr. Rich to remember the safe's combination. Mr. Rich struggles - until Jackie snaps his fingers, which reminds Mr. Rich that the letters in the word "SNAP" represent the numbers in the combination (19 for "S", 14 for "N", etc.).

In a parody of the prime-time TV drama "Dallas", Jackie's character, J. R. Phooing, is extremely greedy, obsessed with money, and cheats anyone and anything in sight - including oil wells. J. R. even has an artist's hand draw a bag of money in exchange for a joke, which he says he doesn't know - but instead of being shot, J. R. gets erased out of the story's last panel with the same artist's hand.

Synopsis
Jackie is shooting a western movie whose props are made up of light material - including houses made of paper, and horses made of brooms - because the production company cannot afford real props, hence the company name "Bankrupt Productions Inc." Jackie also wants to see his name in lights when the film premieres, but expects it to be cheap lighting (like a giant candle) - so Richie consults Professor Keenbean to see if he could help.

Jackie has been hired as a radio disc jockey, and borrows a record from Richie. But while Jackie was on his way to his first gig, the record falls out of his hand and rolls away prompting Jackie to chase after it and ends up late for his first shift - and ends up getting fired instantly.
