Synopsis
Diane contracts Meniere's disease and loses her hearing. She tries to adjust but her ex-boyfriend Paul gets engaged to someone else. Diane becomes an expert lip-reader and is able to conceal her disability. She and co-worker Greg fall in love but she can't hear him propose marriage and he thinks she's refused him. However, when Diane is nearly hit by a truck, Greg saves her and discovers her secret. But it doesn't matter, they'll be married anyway.

Synopsis
High school student Patty doesn't like her parents' strict rules and the fact that her boyfriend Bill agrees with them. She cheats on Bill with Ed, a member of the school's "racy crowd." Patty sneaks out to attend a wild party at Mike's house and he makes a pass at her. Patty flees and is picked up the police, sent by her parents. Patty feels she's lost Bill "for a few cheap thrills" but Bill forgives her.

Synopsis
Former secretary Dixie takes a job as a night club singer so she can send her ailing mother to "a warmer climate." Jerry breaks up with Dixie as a result. She's consoled by piano player Nick. Jerry comes back but he takes Dixie out of town on dates, fearing his family will find out he's dating "a nightclub singer." Nick introduces Dixie and Jerry to his mother, a member of high society who isn't ashamed of her son's career. Dixie decides Nick is the man she loves.
