Issue Notes

Per the promotional advertisement found at the bottom 1/3 page of the "Let's Rap with Cap" letters page in Captain America (Marvel, 1968 series) #170 (February 1974), on sale date was November 13 which would have been in 1973. Promo also listed it as issue #17, but story mentioned appeared in this issue and there is no issue #17 Special Marvel Edition. The title became became Master of Kung Fu (1974 series) with #17.

Synopsis
In New York, Shang-Chi is tracked down by his childhood friend M'nai, now known as Midnight, an assassin in the service of Fu Manchu. He means to kill Shang-Chi, and out of respect for their shared history, Shang-Chi holds back. When Shang-Chi finally engages Midnight with his full power, Midnight plunges to his death.

Stan Lee talks about how Marvel has succeeded in changing comic book's image judging by the number of colleges that have asked for lectures from him. The colleges he has lectured at are Iowa State, Bennington College, Allegheny, Montana State, the University of Delaware and Northwestern University just to name a few. Items including a teaser about Marvel Value Stamps (not named, just pictured), another Spider-Man code, Jim Steranko is putting the finishing touches on the fourth issue of FOOM, a plug for FOOM and starting next month there will be a full page of Bullpen Bulletins and a brand-new Bullpen Bonus Page.
